About us

Provincial Mothers Union (PMU)

"...They are active in supporting those who have experienced domestic violence, and working with children with special needs."

The main programmes that the members are involved in throughout this region are Literacy, Skills training, Communication skills, Leadership, Parenting, Christian education, Marriage preparation and Environmental and health awareness, particularly with HIV/AIDS. Our flagship Parenting Programme continues to thrive.

Our trained Parenting Facilitators have been able to impact communities through workshops and programmes. Mothers; Union has taken a lead in working with women in prison and helping them on their release to re-adjust to family life in their communities.

They are active in supporting those who have experienced domestic violence, and working with children with special needs.

The countries/territories that make up the Province of the West Indies lie in the earthquake and hurricane belt. In the event of the impact of storms and hurricanes, members assist each other by sending relief funds to enable them to purchase emergency supplies such as food and blankets for those worst affected by the disaster.

There is also a Disaster fund to which each Diocese contributes.

Vision

" Our vision is of a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships. This is not a vague hope, but a goal we actively pursue by praying, campaigning and enabling"

Mission

" The Mothers’ Union Provincial Council of the West Indies founded in 1992 is dedicated to serve the families of the Caribbean in an effort to enable members of the Mothers’ Union to carry out the central Aims, Purpose and Objects of the society. We aim to show our Christian faith by the transformation of communities throughout the Province. We can do this through supporting strong relationships within the family and promoting reconciliation at all levels "
